[In the left margin] Peirce Wife to Cook This Indenture made this 19th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen between Rice B Peirce and Frances his wife on the one part and Laurence Cook of the other part Witnesseth that the said Rice B Peirce for and in consideration of the sum of two huundred and ten pounds to the said Rice B Peirce in hand paid by the said Laurence Cook the receipt whereof the said Peirce doth hereby acknowledge. Have a bargained sold and confirmed and by these presents doth bargain sell alien effossed deliver unto the said Laurence Cook his heirs ?? a certain track of land line in the County of Southampton and containing by estimation one hundred fifty four acres be the same more or less and bounded as followeth. Beginning at a sweet gum standing on the road leaving from Flat Swamp Bridges (called Cook) to Boykins bridge the same being a corner of Laurence Cooks land thence along the road to James Gee line then be along the said Gee line to the head of a swamp thence along the various courses of the said swamp to a white oak a corner in said Gees and Peirce thence along a line of marked trees to a dogwood on corner between the said Gees and Pierce thence along James Gees line to a corner tree between the said PC thence along a line of marked trees to the beginning. To have and to hold the said land and premises with all the appurtenances thereon belonging to the said Laurence Cook and to his heirs forever and the said Rice B Peirce and his wife Frances doth for themselves their heirs forever warrant and defend the title of the said land unto him the said Laurence Cook and his heirs and the assigns forever against the claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming any port or parcel thereof.
